Resumen
La guerra greco-turca de 1897 dio lugar a una oleada de informaciones y artículos en prensa que pusieron de manifiesto el interés que suscitaba la ‘Cuestión de Oriente’. En este estudio se aborda el análisis de los textos publicados por el joven intelectual regeneracionista Pascual Santacruz en las páginas del diario El Defensor de Granada. Puestos en su contexto, el objetivo es conocer la construcción a través del discurso de la imagen de Grecia durante la crisis de fin se siglo y el alcance del filohelenismo español en un marco de cambio de paradigma político.
The Greco-Turkish War of 1897 gaves rise to a wave of information and articles in the press that highlighted the interest aroused by the 'Eastern Question'. This study deals with the analysis of the texts published by the young regenerationist intellectual Pascual Santacruz in the pages of the newspaper El Defensor de Granada. Placed in its context, the objective is to know the construction through the discourse of the image of Greece during the crisis of the end of the century and the scope of Spanish Philhellenism in a framework of political paradigm shift.
