La edición y traducción de textos griegos medievales es uno de los campos con mayor proyección en los últimos años, tanto para la Filología como para el medievalismo, donde los estudios bizantinos están cobrando cada vez mayor presencia. La labor realizada por el Centro de Estudios Bizantinos a través de la colección «Biblioteca de Textos Bizantinos» para la difusión de esta parte del patrimonio documental del imperio oriental es fundamental.

The edition and translation of medieval Greek texts is one of the filds with the greatest projection in recent years, both for Philology and for medievalism, where Byzantine studies are gaining more and more presence. The work carried out by the Center for Byzantine Studies through the collection «Library of Byzantine Texts» for the dissemination of this part of the documentary heritage of the Eastern Empire is fundamental.
