Resumen
El presente artículo, al principio quería ser una recensión del libro de la profesora Matilde Morcillo sobre los documentos del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores español durante el reinado de Jorge I (1863-1913) y terminó siendo un pequeño estudio sobre: a. el antagonismo político, económico y cultural en el Mediterráneo por la extracción ilegal de antigüedades griegas, b. un escándalo político que perjudicó la sociedad griega a caballo entre los siglos XIX y XX, c. las relaciones bilaterales hispano-griegas entre los siglos XIX y XX, y d. los brotes de las letras y artes hispánicas en Grecia a finales del siglo XIX.

This article originally wanted to be a review of Professor Matilde Morcillo's book on the documents of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the reign of Jorge I (1863-1913) and ended up being a small study on: a. the political, economic and cultural antagonism in the Mediterranean by the illegal extraction of Greek antiquities, b. a political scandal that damaged Greek society between the 19th and 20th centuries, c. Spanish-Greek bilateral relations between the 19th and 20th centuries, and d. the outbreaks of Hispanic letters and arts in Greece at the end of the 19th century.
