Resumen
En la historiografía sobre la Cuestión de Oriente puede percibirse en España un relativo vacío documental durante el primer tercio del siglo XIX, debido a la censura absolutista del factor filoheleno por el régimen de Fernando VII. No obstante, el período comprendido entre 1821 y 1830 carece aún de estudios amplios, profundos y sistemáticos sobre la limitada bibliografía existente y sus autores, de modo que frecuentemente nos enfrentamos a un campo inédito de investigación. El objetivo de este trabajo es realizar un estudio historiográfio de dos novelas históricas sobre la guerra de la Independencia helena con un enfoque de análisis desde la perspectiva del orientalismo occidental, así como fijar definitivamente su autoría: Grecia, o La doncella de Missolonghi, de Estanislao de Kostka Vayo; y Amor y religión, o La joven griega, de Angélique-Adèle Huvey.

In the historiography of the Eastern Question, it is easy to appreciate an arguable documentary vacuum in Spain during the first third of the 19th century because of the absolutist censorship of Philhellenism by the regime of Ferdinand VII. However, the period between 1821 and 1830 still doesn’t have extensive, deep and systematic studies about limited existing bibliography and its authors, in order that we often face an unknown field of research. This work aims to carry out a historiographical study of two historical novels about the Hellenic War of Independence with an analysis approach from the point of view of Western Orientalism, as well as definitely determine their authorship: Grecia, o La doncella de Missolonghi, of Estanislao de Kostka Vayo; and Amor y religión, o La joven griega, of Angélique-Adèle Huvey.
